What is Tox?

Botox, Dysport, Daxxify and Jeuveau block certain chemical signals from nerves that cause muscles to contract. The most common use of these injections is to relax the facial muscles that cause frown lines and other facial wrinkles. These injections are also used to ease symptoms of some health conditions such as muscle spasms, lazy eye, excessive sweating, migraines and bladder problems.

Understanding dosing

What is my dose?

We get this question ALL the time via instagram and text.

This question is best answered in the treatment room. There are many aspects that go into calculating one's dose. Client age, strength, size, movement pattern and surface area of the muscle along with skin elasticity and health. An in person assessment is recommended to ensure you are given the proper recommendation on dose to last the 3-4 month duration.

20u of Botox/Jeuveau OR 50u of Dysport WILL not freeze your whole face. This dose is enough to freeze an area and MAYBE soften a second. 64 units (forehead, crows feet and 11’s) was the FDA dosing by Botox Cosmetic for the 3 common areas. (This a drug - dose = duration). Now everyone's dose may be different based on their goals, and will be discussed prior to treatment.

Once we start pulling away from the dose we are pulling away from the battery life of your tox, it may look good for the first couple weeks - but it will fade quickly. Giving the client the wrong impression on what tox can actually do and the longevity. We are doing a disservice to you and your treatment by spreading 20u across the face. 1. It wont last long. 2. results will be weak, leading to an improper result/outcome.

The truth is, there isn't one "best" neurotoxin - just one that works best for you.

Just like people respond differently to skincare products or medications. Some clients notice faster onset with one brand, smoother results with another, the way it feels or longer lasting results with a different option. Our clients we see regularly, we have their anatomy down and what they respond best to. It's good to have options in these scenarios.

At Hush, we carry multiple options because each treatment is personalized. Not one-size-fits-all.

Upper Face Conditions

Forehead (Frontalis)

Softens fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead upon expression. The forehead is the ONLY elevator to the brows. If you have hooded/droopy eyes please consult first to ensure we won't make the symptoms worse.

11 lines (Glabella)

Softens the lines/wrinkles made upon expression when angry. Commonly know as the 11 lines. This area can also lift the middle portion of the eyebrows. **if you have hooded or heavy lids doing the crows and glabella without the forehead will give the greatest amount of lift **

Crows feet (Lateral canthal lines)

Softens the fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. Can also help to elevate the tail of the brow. **Remember the forehead is the only elevator to the eyes - so if that is frozen or treated, a brow lift will help to support/offset heaviness - not give a complete brow lift**

Jelly roll (under eye)

this is the area directly under the eye. This helps to soften the “bunching” under the eye upon expression. It also helps to soften fine lines and wrinkles under the eye. This is great in conjunction with the bunny lines for optimal under eye correction.

Bunny lines (nose scrunch)

Softens the fine lines and wrinkle that happen upon scrunching the nose. Do in conjunction with 11 lines, crows feet, and jelly roll for optimal lifting and under eye correction.

Nose slimming

Nose slimming is a combination of injections to relax the muscles around the nose. Over time this allows the muscles to slowly get smaller (atrophy) giving the nose a slimmer appearance. You can also inject the nose to subtly lift the tip.

Lower Face Conditions

Lip flip (upper lip)

helps to soften fine lines and wrinkles above the lip. Also gives the upper lip a subtle flip/ volume. This is great to do in conjunction with a lip filler for the extra oomph.

Gummy smile (under the nose)

This injection is done right below the nostril. It relaxes the muscle that pulls the lip up. This allows the gums to show less upon smiling.

DAO (corners of the mouth)

this injection helps to bubtly lift the corners of the mouth. This done in combination with jawline and chin creates optimal results for contour/slimming. **This is generally done in jawline slimming, unless the client opts out**

Chin (mentalis)

This injection is two parts. It can be done to address the orange peel texture upon contraction of the chin, and/or can be injected for subtle chin projection/elongation. **Often done prior to or in combination with chin filler, reduces risk of migration/allow the filler to integrate properly**

Platysama (neck/neck banding)

this injection helps to soften the bands the neck makes upon contraction. Can also help with tech neck lines and overall neck aesthetic. **part of the platysma is included in the Jawline slimming for optimal lift**

Jawline slimming (Nefretiti Lift)

This injection is a combination of injections on the lower face to help give optimal lift/jawline contour. It generally includes some of the playsma, chin and DAO. **This is a great pairing with jawline filler for optimal contour and drama**

Masseter (clenching/grinding)

relaxes the muscles that open the jaw/help with chewing. Associated with overactive clenching and grinding this treatment provides relief, while also assisting in creating a more v-shaped appearance over time. **often done in combination with jawline slimming to prevent jowling**

Full Face Tox

This treatment is a combination of upper and lower face tox depending on client goals and outcomes. This is by far one of the most satisfying treatments. All areas done together allow for optimal pull and tightening. This is a top treatment for me! (Andrea)

Other Conditions

Brabie tox (trapezius)

This injection helps to slim and elongate the neck. Alternatively this treatment can provide some relief in the neck/trap area. **large area**

Armpits (hyperhidrosis)

this injection is done in the armpit to help relieve overactive sweat glands. Can also help to reduce odor. **large area**

Heel Tox (feet/hyperhidrosis)

this injection is done in the bottom of the feet to relax the muscles and/or sweat glands. This can make it more comfortable to walk in heels or reduce the amount the feet sweat.
